We now have camera tripod adapters available for those of you who want to
turn a camera tripod into a launch pad! (You provide your own tripod)

Our new camera tripod adapter let's you make a launch pad out of your
camera tripod. Accepts 1/8" through 1/4" rods. Rods are held firmly in place
with TWIN 1/4-20 thumb screws. The twin thumb screw design enables the
adapter to hold the three most commonly used launch rod sizes equally well.
Made from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum.

Camera tripod adapters have a 1/4-20 tapped hole in the bottom for
attachment to your camera tripod's camera mounting bolt. You can use the
stock bolt that comes with the tripod, which is usually threaded 1/4-20, but
that little nub of a bolt is awfully short (designed to hold a camera only).
We recommend that you run down to your favorite hardware store and buy
a slightly longer 1/4-20 bolt for a more positive attachment. The hole in the
bottom of the adapter is 5/8" deep for this purpose.  Note:  On the tripod I
have, the bolt is held in place with a c-clip and is easily removed.  The bolts
on other tripods may attach differently.  If your tripod's bolt isn't threaded
1/4-20, we can thread the hole to match your bolt.  I just recently did one
in 3/8-16.  
 


Our camera tripod adapter can also be purchased as a kit which includes
one of our 7 X 7 inch blast deflectors from our FLP-32 launch pads. So you'll
have everything you need for the conversion. *Note: The new kits come
with the 14 gauge 7 X 7 inch flat steel blast deflector from our FLP-32
launch pad (not the older style blast deflector shown here) and our
RP-1 clamp on aluminum rocket perch.

The adapter attaches to the camera mounting bolt and holds 1/8" through 1/4" launch rods equally well.
